Here is the weather AFTCAST for TENERIFE week ending May 24th 2020: It was back to normal last week sun and cloud which is typical for May. Temperatures were in the low to mid-20s not dropping below 20°C at midnight. We ate every meal outside last week. It’s a bit hazy this weekend but still warm, you will be able to return to these podcasts next year to find out what the weather was like in a particular week. Great for planning your vacation.
COVID-19 UPDATE day 63
15 new cases were recorded on Tenerife last week with unfortunately one death. Compare that to 36 recoveries and you can see we are going in the right direction. We have been in de-escalation phase 1 since May 11th and on top of that now we have mandatory mask use in all public spaces where keeping 2m distance cannot be guaranteed, again common sense should be used here. Spain is still only allowing citizens and legal residents to return from abroad but they have to follow phase 0 quarantine for 14 days before being allowed to take advantage of phase 1 freedoms but rumour has it we will transition to phase 2 de-escalation on Monday, find out next week how that plays out…
