Adeje introduces colour-blind friendly beach flags at Troya beach, combining traditional colours with clear symbols to enhance safety and accessibility for all beachgoers.

Adeje Town Hall has unveiled a pioneering accessibility initiative by introducing inclusive beach flags designed for people with colour blindness. Launched officially at Troya Beach, the new flags combine traditional green, yellow, and red colours with distinctive visual symbols to indicate bathing conditions:

✅ Green Flag – Diagonal line with triangle pointing right (bathing allowed)

⚠️ Yellow Flag – Diagonal line (bathing with caution)

🚫 Red Flag – Triangle pointing left (bathing prohibited)

Councillors Patricia Paulsen Fölling (Tourism) and Mercedes Vargas Delgado (Security) led the symbolic flag-raising ceremony, joined by lifeguards, police, and municipal staff.

The initiative reinforces Adeje’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and safety for all residents and visitors, and complements other ongoing improvements in public services across the municipality
