Ladles and jellyspoons! I took a walk this week through my own backyard — the sunny seaside town of Callao Salvaje — joined by the one and only Pato the Duck, also known as Peter. He’s not just a good sport and fellow YouTuber — he’s also a gadget nut like me and has a cracking sense of humour.
🎙️ A Chat While We Stroll
We started the walk right outside my front door and made our way through the village, chatting about everything from scooters and pensions to livestream tech and bacon butties. Peter’s been travelling, thinking about where to retire, and dipping his toe back into YouTube. He also shared the hilarious origin of his nickname — something to do with Ibiza, a swimming pool, and a bit too much sun!
🛰️ Testing Tech in the Wild
I brought along my trusty YOLO Box, Feiyutech Pocket 3, and a new bit of kit called StreamAlive, which lets us see where our viewers are watching from in real time. Spoiler alert: it thought some of you were in Bermuda… and Seaham. 😂 It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but we had a laugh figuring it out.
We ended up at Momo’s Café, where we sat down for a coffee and set up a two-camera livestream. Peter helped me with the gear — he knows his stuff — and we had a proper catch-up about YouTube monetization, gear expenses, and why we do what we do even when it’s not about the money.

Later on, Webby popped by and joined the party. As always, he brought the Yorkshire banter and some great one-liners. We even had a quick interview with John from Canary Green, talking about sustainable travel here in the Canaries.
