Adeje 16 March 2021

Adeje companies invited to take part in a seminar on digitalisation and subsidies

The initiative, totally online, is part of the ‘SMART ECO’ project; pre-registration is required

On March 23rd Adeje hosts an online seminar on digitalisation and subsidies, aimed at small and medium businesses, as part of the ‘Smart Eco’ project. Companies interested in participating in this conference must register in advance online, www.adeje.es ( https://www.survio.com/ survey / d / seminariosmartecomarzo2021 ) where they will also find full event programme.

Adeje Councillor for economic development, Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, stressed that, “the most important thing about these conferences is that companies will have clear information on subsidies from other supra-municipal administrations in addition to being shown good business practices and digital tools that can help in day-to-day management.”

Speakers with extensive experience in the business field will attend this event. This seminar will present the opportunities that exist for companies in terms of digitalisation, tools that are more than necessary given the situation that has been generated by COVID-19. The presentation is focused in a way that takes advantage of all the resources that the digital economy has to offer.

Adeje will be hosting the I Transnational Cooperation Mission under the SMART-ECO project, on March 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th. The event was originally scheduled for March of 2020 but cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, and the organisers have decided that the event will be 100% online.

The event will look ahead to the coordination of the SMART-ECO project for the coming months up to October 31, 2022, the expected completion date. The mission will be divided into 4 parts: 1) Public seminar on digitalisation and subsidies for SMEs, 2) Monitoring Committee of the project partners, 3) Technical Work Workshops, and 4) Individual meetings between the Adeje Council, as the leader of this section of the project, and the rest of the partners.

INTERREG VA

SMART-ECO is an initiative included in the INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal MAC (Madeira-Azores-Canarias) 2014-2020 Cooperation Program, was approved by the European Commission on June 3, 2015 and aims to contribute to the development of the EU strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and the achievement of economic, social and territorial cohesion of the outermost regions of Madeira, Azores and the Canary Islands, as well as the geographically closest countries: Cape Verde, Senegal and Mauritania.

SMART-ECO contemplates the improvement of the digital competitiveness of companies and entrepreneurs in the MAC zone, supporting their growth in regional, national and international markets and in innovation. The sixteen project partners will participate in this event, which is structured around three work blocks: creation of a collaborative framework for the generation of a local digital ecosystem; technological innovation in the local productive fabric (‘digital adopters’) and promotion of ‘digital natives’ and start-ups.

The projects of the INTERREG MAC Programs are led by a Principal Beneficiary / Lead Partner; Adeje Council is the leader of the SMART-ECO project, so that the local Adeje administration is responsible for the development of the project programme.
