Adeje Announces Next-Generation Tourist Information Office for Fañabé

Experience Costa Adeje like never before at the new Fañabé Tourist Office – where service meets luxury!

Adeje Town Hall has made progress on the development of a new tourist information office in Playa Fañabé, as part of an inter-administrative agreement with Tenerife Cabildo under the Infoten Network renewal programme. The initiative, which is due to be approved at the January municipal council meeting, aims to modernise visitor information services and adapt them to new tourism habits and the quality standards of the Costa Adeje destination.

The councillor for Tourism, Patricia Paulsen Fölling, explained that the new office will strengthen the destination model being developed in Costa Adeje, where tourist information goes beyond traditional guidance to provide experiences, encourage visitor loyalty and highlight the value of the area. She noted that its location in a high-footfall area such as Fañabé will improve direct visitor care while projecting an image aligned with innovation, accessibility and quality.

The new facility will replace the existing tourist information office and will be located on the seafront promenade at Playa de Fañabé. It has been designed as an open space connected to its surroundings, with a strong focus on accessibility and bioclimatic design. The total investment amounts to €561,632.71, covering both construction and professional project management. Construction costs will be shared equally between Tenerife Cabildo and Adeje Town Hall, while the island authority will fully fund the project management. The estimated execution period is two years.

The office has been classified as a type A facility within the Infoten Network, meaning it will operate as an experiential visitor centre. These offices are characterised by larger spaces, advanced technological equipment, updated information content and personalised attention focused on building visitor loyalty. They may also include retail space linked to the Tenerife brand and services such as the sale of excursions, tickets or tourism packages.

Once the agreement is signed, the new Fañabé office will be formally incorporated into the Infoten Network, which entails meeting a series of operational requirements. These include providing service 365 days a year, extended opening hours adapted to visitor flows, staff with specialised tourism training and language skills, free public WiFi connectivity, and the continuous updating of information in coordination with Turismo de Tenerife.

After completion and formal handover of the works, Adeje Town Hall will assume responsibility for maintaining the facility, ensuring that its configuration and intended uses are preserved. Costa Adeje currently has tourist information offices in Playa Troya, Fañabé and Playa Paraíso, and this initiative reinforces the municipality’s commitment to a modern, coherent and well-integrated tourist infrastructure network that enhances the visitor experience and strengthens the competitiveness of Costa Adeje within the island of Tenerife.

What this means for residents

For local residents, the new Fañabé tourist information office is expected to improve the organisation and flow of visitors in one of Costa Adeje’s busiest areas, helping to reduce confusion and pressure on local businesses and public spaces. By centralising high-quality visitor information and services in a modern, well-managed facility, the project aims to support a more orderly, sustainable tourism model that benefits the local economy while improving day-to-day coexistence between residents and visitors.
