Adeje’s Mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga and Councillor for Mobility Mercedes Vargas Delgado have presented seven key proposals to the Island Cabildo to improve traffic flow and public transport in the region. During a meeting with Island Mobility Councillor Eulalia García Silva and technical teams, they discussed urgent interventions needed in both infrastructure and public transport services.

Key Proposals & Issues Raised:
Road Improvements: Upgrade junctions on the TF-1 motorway, particularly near Fañabé, San Eugenio, and Torviscas. Address bottlenecks at the Adeje exit towards Guía de Isora, including areas like La Tablada, Las Cancelas, and Los Menores. Create a parallel road from La Atalaya to relieve pressure on the TF-82. Widen road margins on the TF-82 to include pedestrian walkways from Lidl/Aldi in La Atalaya to Los Menores. Improve the TF-47 between Armeñime and Adeje by adding a second uphill lane and dedicated pedestrian and cycle paths. Public Transport: Restore key bus routes withdrawn by TITSA, especially to La Caleta and local schools. Develop new bus links to remote villages like Taucho and Tijoco Arriba. Collaborate with TITSA to integrate it as a formal service provider for Adeje’s growing population (over 50,000).
Mayor Rodríguez Fraga emphasized the need for joint local and island-level action to tackle increasing congestion in the south of Tenerife. Councillor García called the meeting “very positive” and reaffirmed the Cabildo’s commitment to sustainable mobility across the island.
