Adeje Town Hall has renewed its financial support for the Fundación Canaria Walk for Life (Carrera por la Vida), approving a €27,000 grant as part of the 2026 municipal budget. The funding will help the charity continue its support, prevention and awareness programmes for people affected by breast cancer and their families.
The grant will also contribute towards organising the Foundation’s flagship community events, including Walk for Life, Swim for Life, and Yoga for Life. These events attract thousands of participants each year, promoting healthy lifestyles, raising awareness of breast cancer and generating funds for patient support and cancer research.
Part of the funding will ensure the continued operation of the Foundation’s headquarters in Adeje, from where it coordinates specialist advice, emotional support and practical assistance throughout the year. The Foundation also provides several well-established support programmes, including therapeutic bras following mastectomy, lymphatic compression sleeves, post-operative drainage bags, reconstructive nipple and areola micropigmentation, transport assistance and support for breast cancer research projects.
Now celebrating 18 years of service in Adeje, Walk for Life has become one of the leading charitable organisations in southern Tenerife, bringing together residents, businesses and public institutions to improve the lives of those affected by breast cancer while supporting ongoing scientific research.
