One of the most anticipated moments of Adeje’s IV Visita Lustral will take place this coming Saturday, 4 October, when the patron saint lands on La Enramada beach.
A Central Event of the Festivities
The programme for Saturday includes:
- Maritime procession departing around 7 pm from Puerto Colón and arriving at La Enramada, coordinated with the Port Authority. Boats are expected to take part, and the image of the Virgen will be carried on the shoulders of the Porteadores.
- Theatrical performances and a light, sound, and drone show – the latter a new feature this year.
- Artistic programme with pianist and soprano Satomi and double bassist Tomás López Perea Cruz, dramaturgy by Burka Teatro, and choreography directed by EntreDanza.
Religious & Cultural Highlights
Once ashore:
- A narration will link the history of the municipality with the arrival of the image.
- The parish priest will lead proceedings.
- La Virgen de la Encarnación will leave La Enramada beach and be welcomed by the Adeje Folklore School Group, who will accompany her to the Humilladero.
- A sung mass will follow, celebrated by Parranda El Mesturao.
The day will continue in San Sebastián with more lights and colour, and will end with a street party featuring music from Generación Z.
A Journey Across Adeje
Throughout September, the IV Visita Lustral of the Virgen de la Encarnación has toured parishes, districts, and neighbourhoods across the municipality, bringing the statue closer to every community in Adeje.
This itinerary culminates on Saturday, 4 October, with the landing on the coast, and concludes with the statue’s return to the town on Sunday, 5 October.
