Welcome, ladles and jellyspoons! It’s Tim Dowd here for Living with MS in Tenerife and this week’s Midweek Meetup was a belter! We kicked off live from the terrace at Nebula, with Christine by my side, maps firing, and mojitos flowing. Let’s dive in.
🎙️ Viewers Around the World
From the start, we got the interactive viewer map up and running. Edinburgh, Munich, Seaham (which, oddly, maps to Australia?), South Shields, Dublin, Glasgow, Palma Nova, and beyond! Whether folks were in Tenerife or tuning in from Ohio or Moldova (thanks, dodgy mapping!), it was a global get-together.
I gave a mini tech tour—camera angles, USB connections, and side-by-side screen setups—trying not to fry the gear or spill beer. Christine, meanwhile, kept the vibes strong and the wisecracks rolling.
🎂 Belated Birthdays & Barraquitos
Christine celebrated her belated birthday with a barraquito—alcohol and all—thanks to some very kind viewers (looking at you, Louise Parks and Craig!). We toasted, laughed, and debated the pronunciation of Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. No worries if you can’t say it—just raise a glass instead!
As we sipped and chuckled, a special appearance by Rocky Earth Guy Jassy took us on a quick virtual ride through his latest vlog. We also welcomed friends like Adam and music meep J-Miller live on stream!
🧠 Gadgets, Maps & Mojo
I geeked out with tech—stream overlays, live maps, TurboScribe magic, and how I use AI for subtitles, blog posts, and even thumbnails. We had a few hiccups, but the show must go on!
Christine, ever the trooper, even managed to join despite feeling under the weather. There were talks of dream driving, fish-finger dinners, and the importance of living in the moment. As I said, “If you’ve got a problem—solve it. If you can’t, let it go.”
