Ladles and Jellyspoons! In this episode, I took a light gear setup and walked to the Arona Grand Hotel to meet up with Marie Alty and Carl Town. What started as a simple stroll turned into a full-on stream test, breakfast review, and heartfelt catch-up with good friends.
🎥 A Walk with Tech and Heart
I kicked off the walk with just one camera, no balancing weights, and a head full of ideas. We met Marie and Carl outside the hotel and immediately got chatting about shows at BoomBox, upcoming travel plans, and the joys (and trials) of Tenerife’s sunshine.
Then it was time for some serious live-streaming tech tests. I explained how I’m using a YoloBox Ultra, HDMI inputs, replay features, and even how I plan to bond a second SIM for better bandwidth. (Spoiler: the stream glitched slightly—but it wasn’t the bandwidth this time, just a loose USB!)
🥓 The Best Bacon Butty in Tenerife?
We made a beeline for La Palma café, run by Stefano, and ordered bacon sandwiches on homemade focaccia with lattes and sparkling water. Absolute 10/10. I even pitched calling it the “Timmy Butty” and adding it to the menu.
Breakfast was filled with conversation about:
- Vitamin D overload and NHS apps
- Carl’s cousin’s partner’s recent passing
- Marie’s new puppy, Rio, and her son Lewis’s apprenticeship
We also discussed real estate, shout-outs to other YouTubers like NightStrider, and answered live questions from viewers watching around the world.

🧰 Streaming Setups & Community Spirit
Back at the table, I demoed my camera rig, HDMI cables, YoloCast buffering service, and how I plan to avoid dropped frames next time. We laughed, reflected, and even managed a bit of Spanish with the locals on the way back to the car.
Carl and Marie were amazing company, and it was great to share a few laughs (and a few tears) with them on camera.
🧡 Thank You for Watching
This was more than a walk. It was breakfast, bonding, a technical masterclass, and a celebration of community.
Let me know in the comments:
Should I really pitch the “Timmy Butty” to La Palma café?
See ya — wouldn’t wanna bee ya!
