Quesería Montesdeoca, based in Adeje (Tenerife), secured two bronze medals this year:

  • Queso semicurado de vaca/cabra ahumado (semi-cured smoked cow/goat cheese)
  • Queso curado de vaca/cabra con gofio (cured cow/goat cheese with gofio)

This artisan dairy is already among Spain’s most decorated cheese producers, having amassed approximately 120 awards from international, national and regional competitions — including a “Super Gold” at the World Cheese Awards.

Co-founder Alberto Montesdeoca explained that this year they broadened their focus beyond traditional goat cheeses to include a “creamy range” of cow-and-goat blends — and the strategy has paid dividends.

The curado de vaca/cabra con gofio in particular has excelled in 2025, earning:

  • Gold at Agrocanarias
  • Gold in Berlin at the Mediterranean Taste Awards
  • Bronze in France at Fromage Mondial in Tours

Visitors are encouraged to book a tour of the farm to discover the cheese-making process and learn more about sustainable farming practices. For more information: quesosmontesdeoca.com
