Adeje’s two new municipal bus routes recorded 10,153 passenger journeys during their first five weeks of operation, according to a review by Adeje Town Hall.
Routes 448 and 449 began running on 17 August. The figures cover the period up to 23 September and show more journeys in the first three weeks of September than in the second half of August. The council says it has already agreed some early changes with TITSA, the island’s bus operator. Source.

Route 448 links Adeje town centre with La Caleta. It accounted for 9,105 of the journeys: 3,518 in the second half of August and 5,587 during the first three weeks of September. That is almost 90% of the combined total.
Route 449 serves the higher and more rural communities, including Taucho, Tijoco Alto, La Concepción, La Hoya, Tijoco Bajo and Los Menores. It recorded 1,048 journeys over the same period: 489 in the second half of August and 559 in the first three weeks of September.

The Town Hall’s review says the first departure from La Caleta was brought forward from 7:55am to 7:20am to help students reach Adeje’s secondary schools on time. Route 449 has also gained three stops. The council has asked TITSA for passenger figures at individual stops and plans to consider further practical improvements as more information becomes available.
There is a timetable difference to be aware of: TITSA’s current route 448 page lists a 7:55am departure from La Caleta. The 7:20am time is the change reported in the Town Hall’s review; passengers should check TITSA’s latest timetable before travelling.
Route 448 connects La Caleta with Adeje, while route 449 provides a circular link between Adeje and several upper communities. Check the TITSA route 448 page and TITSA route 449 page for current routes and timetables before travelling.
